Blue Stratos is a retro brand of aftershave. It was extremely popular in the 1970s and the brand has been acquired by Modus client Three Pears. It was our job to bring the brand back to life and to re-shape it for a 21st century target audience.
What we did
In this re-branding project Modus had 4 prime areas – product packaging, brochure, advertising and PR. The packaging is an iconic deep blue with the symbol of a white bird in flight, and we produced packaging for the eau de toilette, body spray and aftershave. The outer packaging for the eau de toilette and aftershave is sturdy and contains the product firmly, which is important as the product is sold online and in high street retail.
The brochure was produced primarily for prospective buyers. Three Pears brands regularly take exhibition space at trade shows and showcase all their brands and Blue Stratos is very recognisable and desirable brand. Retailers who sell fragrances need to see the detail on the products and a brochure is a brilliant way to tell the story of the brand, people like to know the history as it helps to tailor the product to specific audiences.
How it worked
With the product packaging and the brochure in position, Modus then started the advertising and PR to generate interest in the re-branded iconic product. Although Blue Stratos is known as an aftershave it was important to get the message out the new look and also that there were 2 more products in the range, the eau de toilette and the body spray.
Three Pears Brands are really pleased with the re-brand and how the product range is being presented through good design and marketing. We hope this is a brand that is still going strong in another 50 years!! When a brand transcends generations it’s definitely a winner!
