Website for carecheck and custom icons

Carecheck run DBS checks for all industries, including the voluntary sector.  The DBS (Disclosure and Barring service) was formerly the CRB (Criminal records bureau) and the number of checks required has seen a 40% growth over the last 3 years.  There were a phenomenal 5.8 million DBS checks in 2019.  The need for safer recruitment is vital and particularly when people are working with the public or children.  Nobody wants to take chances, and DBS checks provide that peace of mind.

What we did

The brief for Modus was to build a multi-faceted website with simple navigation.  The site contains a massive amount of information and the initial challenge was how to present all this detail in a format that wasn’t overwhelming to the website visitor.  Modus also wanted to incorporate some design features into the site so that it wasn’t purely functional but that it looked great as well.

There are a number of DBS products and services and many variables.  The legislation surrounding this whole area also has to be taken into consideration.  One of the tools that we used was to create incorporate video tutorials into the site which is a friendly and immediate way to engage with the visitor.  It also means that people who don’t like to read through reams of text can access details in a visual way.

How it worked

It’s quite an image-led site with bespoke infographics to enhance the journey through the site and to showcase the branding.  With constant changes and policy updates this WordPress site was created for Carecheck to enable them to make regular tweaks.  The site works brilliantly and is easy to understand whether you are a business, a school or a voluntary organisation.  The level of information is very broad and Carecheck is absolutely delighted with the outcome of the site and in addition, they also have a brilliant Trustpilot rating for their service which is wonderful.
