Nettl is the new web studio brand hitting high streets across Britain, and Worcester has become one of the first cities to welcome this exciting new concept. Worcester MP Robin Walker took some time out of his busy parliamentary schedule to cut the ribbon at Nettl Worcester, alongside Mike Ashton, Chief Executive, Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, and representatives from Advised in Worcestershire and The Worcestershire Ambassadors, opening the newly refurbished and rebranded modus print store on The Tything.

modus print on The Tything have been a successful printing.com franchise since 2006, and has added the new Nettl web studio to the existing print and design business. Nettl.com offers sophisticated services across the full spectrum of digital and print resources, to help SMEs throughout Worcester access competitively priced websites bridging the gap between bespoke design and self-build websites.

Mr Walker commented: “I am delighted to see the continued growth and development of modus right here in the city. This is a powerful collaboration that unites 10 years of local knowledge and expertise with a major new national brand, offering sophisticated web shops and online apps, and the resources to help Worcester business compete in a busy marketplace.”

Mike Ashton added: “Every business no matter how big or small needs to have an online presence and this new Nettl web studio will allow businesses across the county to compete online with easily affordable professionally developed websites.”

How does it work? The new neighbourhood web studio represents a shift-change in the way Worcester businesses are able to exploit cross-media solutions such as e-commerce web shops, mobile website optimisation, click and collect facilities and design services. Nettl of Worcester means smaller businesses and start-ups can now take full advantage of these services which are essential for customer engagement and future growth.

Nettl of Worcester will offer its services to businesses in various industry sectors, from independent retail, hospitality, beauty, sport and leisure, through to construction, media, marketing and tech start-ups. SMEs are a key focus for the company.

“Worcester city businesses statistically need to review their online strategy.” Adrian Field from Worcester BID comments “Only 33% of BID Businesses have a mobile optimised website, around 30% have a non mobile ready site and about 35% don’t have a website at all. Businesses cannot afford to ignore the power of online and the importance of being mobile, A website is as important as the sign over the door and businesses should take a look at Nettl and decide for themselves if this is the strategy for them.

Guy Marson, Nettl of Worcester and modus Founder, said: “The dramatic increase in smartphone usage has not only seen a rise in Worcester people browsing websites on a mobile device, but also buying products via their mobile. With a huge number of websites still not prepared for mobile, and with Google now penalising them for this in their rankings, there is an opportunity for Worcester businesses to capitalise by building mobile-ready e-commerce websites, and we are here to offer advice, support and guidance to businesses looking to optimise their websites for mobile or simply get their business online.

Marson continues: “Our clients are increasingly looking for a design partner who can help upgrade their website, build a web shop which syncs with their stock management, or integrate with an online booking app. And they also want to know they’re getting a good deal on punchy print and creative branding, to complement their web presence.

“One area we are particularly excited about is our new click and collect service which allows independent retailers to connect their website to their in-store till to compete with larger organisations who, until now, have had the monopoly on such technology.

“We’re a new brand with a down-to-earth approach. Our local Worcester web studio team bring an individual, one-to-one service to help our customers get the absolute most from their marketing budget.”

As part of modus’ continuing commitment to the Worcestershire community the team in the new Nettl web studio have committed to donate the design, build and hosting of a new Nettl website for the helpGeorgie campaign to raise funds and awareness of Worcester toddler Georgie Gibbs, diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, who needs life changing surgery and intensive aftercare.
